About Jodi

Jodi Cordes is the Women’s Business Center Program Director and Business Advisor at Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI), a Maine-based community development financial institution with a mission to build just, vibrant, and climate-resilient futures for people and communities in Maine and rural regions by integrating finance, business expertise and policy solutions in ways that make the economy work more equitably. [Add in significant work-related volunteer roles or appointments to give context to who you are in the industry, e.g. Serves on the Board of the Opportunity Finance Network, appointed to the MaineHousing Board of Commissioners.]

As CEI’s Women’s Business Center Program Director and Business Advisor Jodi helps women owned businesses at any stage of their business, from start-up to expansion within a setting that respects their experience, skills, and learning style. She will assist you in building business skills through access to timely, accurate, tailored information and resources.

Jodi’s background as an independent business consultant and her extensive experience in human resources, has provided her with a wealth of experiences that focus on people operations, marketing, and customer service for small businesses. Her passion for helping others, teaching, and mentoring also comes from being a business faculty member at local community colleges. Jodi’s is a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), and a Crucial Conversations Certified Instructor.

What is unique about the town you grew up in?

I grew up Honesdale, Pennsylvania a small rural town in Northeast PA where The Stourbridge Lion (steam engine train) took voyage in 1829 to become the birthplace of America’s Commercial Railroad.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
