Long Shot Revival Homestead
Long Shot Revival Homestead, in Orland, is a family farm owned and run by Joe and Haley Brown. An Army National Guard veteran, Joe began farming, starting with a few piglets, as a good therapeutic outlet while he transitioned back to civilian life. As Joe and Haley considered expanding, Shannon Byers, a business advisor with Maine Small Business Development Centers at CEI, helped them explore options, leading to the addition of poultry to the farm. Joe also sought out support from United Farmer Veterans of Maine, a nonprofit for Maine veterans launching and growing agriculture businesses.
With business booming, Joe and Haley worked hard to stay positive and provide local food for their community. Their dedication to quality and keeping people healthy helped to transcend the isolation of the pandemic. To support fellow veterans, Joe offers a 10% veterans discount on Long Shot Revival products.
