About Molly

Molly Gerencer is a Loan and Investment Officer at Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI), a Maine-based community development financial institution with a mission to build just, vibrant and climate-resilient futures for people and communities in Maine and rural regions by integrating finance, business expertise and policy solutions in ways that make the economy work more equitably.

As CEI’s Loan and Investment Officer, Molly is involved in all aspects of lending including financial analysis, business development and portfolio management. Molly brings breadth and depth of retail and commercial banking and State of Maine financial expertise to the team. Molly serves on the Maine Department of Agriculture Dairy Improvement Fund and the Maine Department of Agriculture Marketing Loan Fund. The Dairy Improvement Fund (DIF) is a revolving loan program intended to assist dairy farmers in making capital improvements to maintain and enhance the viability of their farms and to pay the administrative costs of handling loan applications and servicing and administering the fund and loans made from the fund. The Agricultural Marketing Loan Fund (AMLF) is a revolving loan fund dedicated to financing projects that will advance agricultural enterprises.

Molly has held a variety of banking roles with Maine’s large community banks as well as Maine’s National Banks. Molly held various financial regulatory roles with the State of Maine Office of Securities and with the Department of Health and Human Services. Molly in her words “needs to be outside” enjoying skiing, hiking, biking and paddling.

Education:

  • Saint Anslem College – B.A. of Financial Economics with a concentration in French

What was your first job?

My first job was delivering a weekly small-town newspaper that cost .10 cents, the Marblehead Reporter.

If you had unlimited resources, where would you go?

I would bike around the world.

What is your favorite candy?

High quality dark chocolate.
